Rare Disease Rebel

I grew up around theatre productions and have always had a love of the stage. I also have lived experience with disability, chronic illness and all the changes people are forced to make as their body rebels against them.

My experience drew me to interview Hanna Cormick about her experience with illnesses that now see her primarily live in a sealed room, often reliant on a wheelchair. This, after touring the world as a dancer and performer, training in Paris no less, was a shock to the system.

Stories about how people grapple with the challenges of being anything but ‘normal’ are so important because there are so many people who need to hear them - either because they are living it or know someone affected by it.

A Slammed Door Reopens at A Doll’s House 2 – Whose Side Are You On?

FEATURE ARTICLE: I was lucky enough to meet with two wonderfully creative talents ahead of the launch of world-renown play A Doll’s House 2.

Project Jericho and operating At The Edge

MAGAZINE: I was immensely proud to work on the Australian Air Force’s At The Edge Magazine for the 2019 international Avalon Air Show. This magazine was about demonstrating the ways the Air Force is embracing and encouraging the fifth-generation force - designed to make the most of human creativity and technological advancement to give the Air Force ‘the edge’. Incredible projects and inspiring stories given to both Australian and international leaders and defence industry professionals to showcase Australia’s vision and capability.

At The Edge | Plan Jericho

WEB CONTENT: Read some of the incredibly exciting work I’ve done for The Royal Australian Air Force and The House of Kitch as part of Plan Jericho.

This link will take you to the website that I have written all the copy for. It was delightfully challenging at times working with so many different people to create a consistent style, remove as much jargon as possible and still keep the articles aimed at a well educated and industry-centric audience.

Hughes house combines class and style in quiet cul-de-sac

PROPERTY FEATURE: Working with Fairfax news, I wrote a weekly Home of the Week column. This job saw me take a crash course in architecture and has seen my love of property and design flourish. The weekly piece saw tight turnarounds, interviews with realtors and sellers and a way with words to encourage interest in the featured property.

Class, style and monochrome substance are fluent throughout this designer property in Canberra’s Woden Valley.

Allday - Speeding

REVIEW: I have been a writer for Canberra entertainment magazine for many years, regularly reviewing music and gigs and interviewing both domestic and international artists. This is an album review for an Australian musician All Day. The article is designed to engage music lovers and tell them about the artist and his latest musical offering. Putting music into words has been a delightful challenge, it makes me really think about my words every time. I love it.
