Government
Working with State, Territory and Federal Governments can be a funny thing, there is a certain way of working, writing, briefing and communicating.
Luckily, I have you covered after working with multiple departments to improve their communication strategies and launch programs.
Below is some of my working with the government. If you’re part of a department wanting to refresh their comms, or looking to get in contact with one, drop me a line and we’ll make it happen.

WEB CONTENT: Read some of the incredibly exciting work I’ve done for The Royal Australian Air Force and The House of Kitch as part of Plan Jericho.
This link will take you to the website that I have written all the copy for. It was delightfully challenging at times working with so many different people to create a consistent style, remove as much jargon as possible and still keep the articles aimed at a well educated and industry-centric audience.
VIDEO: Video content was a key part of the National Health and Medical Research Council’s (NHMRC) website overhaul, which aimed to simplify the content and design of the site as well as make it one of the most engaging in federal government.
This interview with Professor Andrew Lloyd is one of around half a dozen videos I worked on for NHMRC.
BROCHURE BIOGRAPHIES: This piece showcases my research skill after interviewing each of the award recipients of this annual award. I wrote all of the content in this brochure, which was designed for the awards night. I also designed the brochure and had it professionally printed. This is an excellent example of both my copywriting and design work.
PRESS RELEASE: This press release was part of a communication strategy for an annual federal government awards evening, designed to highlight some of the best medical research projects currently receiving government funding. This press release was distributed in the lead up to the event, followed by coordinated communication from the several universities involved with the award recipients. I also led communication from the federal health minister’s office and social media campaigns.

This interview with Professor Emily Banks is one of around half a dozen videos I worked on for NHMRC.
PRESS RELEASE: The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) had a number of priority areas which had been identified as areas requiring particular advancement in the health and medical research field due to the present and future need. Dementia research was one of these, along with improving the health of Australia’s Indigenous population. I wrote this media release to demonstrate the government’s progress in addressing these areas of need, in line with community expectation. It has been published on both the NHMRC website and the federal health minister’s.
FEATURE ARTICLE: This piece of copy was used on the National Health and Medical Research Council’s website to highlight some of the best medical research projects currently receiving government funding. I wrote this piece following an interview with Dr Pellicci and translated a very technical piece of research into plain English which can be easily understood by a wide audience.
PRESS RELEASE: This press release was instigated at the request of the health minister following media attention surrounding an increase in ulcer cases in a regional part of Australia. As well as detailing the work the government was funding into researching the cause of this ulcer, along with preventative measures and treatment options, several other research projects were also to be noted. This release was part of a full scale communication strategy, including a press event, talking points and social media strategy. There was extensive consultation with stakeholders within the National Health and Medical Research Council as well as the federal government.
EDM: This is a newsletter I designed and compiled, showcasing some of my production skills. I also produced the podcast and written content.
I have always been fascinated by the role of "influencers", their impact on buying behaviour and how they are chosen and approached by business. Tribe is an online platform that connects influencers and business in an innovative and highly successful manner. I loved working on this newsletter, taking a deeper look at Tribe as well as the government's use of influencers.
PRESS RELEASE: While I was working with contentgroup, the agency was undertaking some very interesting research into improving communication between govermment and citizens. This was a press release highlighting that work and establishing contentgroup as an industry leader.
