Copywriting is a pivotal aspect of any business and communication strategy. It is both an art and a science, to strategically deliver wording to encourage action. It is about your audience, what you want them to know about your company, your expertise, your product, your cause and why you are worth their time. I am also an experienced editor, proof reader and ghost writer.
Below are examples of my writing that have been published across various channels, created for a range of audiences and purposes.
Entertainment | Government | Health and Medical | Property | Misc
FEATURE ARTICLE: I’ve been a fan of Holly Throsby for years and was stoked to hear her super-group, Seeker Lover Keeper, was releasing a second album and doing a national tour.
Read my article about Wild Seeds, preparing to hit the road with Sarah Blasko and Sally Seltmann again and what she’s been doing the last few years.
See the live BMA article here.
FEATURE ARTICLE: Who can help but support local music, and as a proud Canberran I am even prouder to have had the chance to interview this chart-topping trio.
I hate to toot my own horn, but this cover story was also my third BMA cover in a row — so toot toot!

I grew up around theatre productions and have always had a love of the stage. I also have lived experience with disability, chronic illness and all the changes people are forced to make as their body rebels against them.
My experience drew me to interview Hanna Cormick about her experience with illnesses that now see her primarily live in a sealed room, often reliant on a wheelchair. This, after touring the world as a dancer and performer, training in Paris no less, was a shock to the system.
Stories about how people grapple with the challenges of being anything but ‘normal’ are so important because there are so many people who need to hear them - either because they are living it or know someone affected by it.
FEATURE ARTICLE: I was lucky enough to meet with two wonderfully creative talents ahead of the launch of world-renown play A Doll’s House 2.
Read my article about the production with actor PJ Williams and Director Caroline Stacey for BMA.
I also added a fun little quiz at the end of the article as an interactive way to increase article engagement, promote the play and see more bums on theatre seats.
BLOG: During my time with Painaustralia, I’d ghostwrite weekly blogs on behalf of the CEO, Carol Bennett.
Ms Bennett and I would collaboratively come up with the topic and I’d also consult with the Painaustralia Policy Manager on content and tone before Ms Bennett did a final review.
This post was designed to be published on Ms Bennett’s own LinkedIn page and then shared across the official Painaustralia social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) to enhance the profile of Ms Bennett and the Painaustralia organisation.
I also designed the social media tiles and banners, with a social media spend going into the widespread promotion of the blog across Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn resulting in thousands of impressions and hundreds of engagements.
The aim of the post is to highlight prominent issues within the pain management sector in Australia and make the most of existing content. This post was inspired by a recent submission Painaustralia made to the Federal Government.
See Painaustralia’s web version here and links to additional blog pieces written by myself can be found at the end of the post.
WEB CONTENT: Read some of the incredibly exciting work I’ve done for The Royal Australian Air Force and The House of Kitch as part of Plan Jericho.
This link will take you to the website that I have written all the copy for. It was delightfully challenging at times working with so many different people to create a consistent style, remove as much jargon as possible and still keep the articles aimed at a well educated and industry-centric audience.
BOOK REVIEW: I am a book lover and I’ve been a fan of Lily Allen since her early days so this job was hardly a chore!
Published in Canberra’s iconic BMA this deep dive into the past, present and future of the Brit-pop diva was a joy to research and write.
Happy reading!

FEATURE ARTICLE: Animal welfare is a topic near and dear to my heart, evidenced by my work life, many of the pieces I write and social media feeds. This piece for Her Canberra was designed to speak to the animal owners of the region on how the cold winter can affect their senior pet’s health and comfort. Given the audience, I was able to have quite a bit of fun with the language while still maintaining authority and important information.
BROCHURE BIOGRAPHIES: This piece showcases my research skill after interviewing each of the award recipients of this annual award. I wrote all of the content in this brochure, which was designed for the awards night. I also designed the brochure and had it professionally printed. This is an excellent example of both my copywriting and design work.
FEATURE ARTICLE: This piece of copy was used on the National Health and Medical Research Council’s website to highlight some of the best medical research projects currently receiving government funding. I wrote this piece following an interview with Dr Pellicci and translated a very technical piece of research into plain English which can be easily understood by a wide audience.
